Relatively cool mid-morning temperatures and a 17 km/h southeast breeze combined to produce ideal conditions for watching the 10-kilometre race. The weather was tougher on the runners, but prompt medical attention was available for those who encounteredifficulties. Despite the heat, an estimated 3,600 men, women and children completed the course, more than double last year's 1,700 finishers.
