Ask any nostalgic Winnipeg Beacher and his first memory is about trains - the Moonlight's and the Daddy's as well as the frequent regular passenger runs which set the rhythm for so many decades at Winnipeg Beach. Winnipeg Beach takes on a new personalityand a new name, Winnipeg Beach Provincial Recreation Area in 1970. Official opening ceremonies are Wednesday, July 29 and festivities continue until August 3 - Winnipeg Beach Moonlight Days and Centennial Youth Festival.
