There are several criteria that the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections have adopted in relation to inclusion of faculty, staff, students, and alumni in the official World War Two database.These criteria are:

In order for faculty and staff to be included on this list, they must:

In order for people to be included on this list, they must:

*Registered student status includes people who were registered in all faculties at the University (both Fort Garry and Broadway campuses), the United Colleges, St. John's College, St. Paul's College, St. Mary's Academy & College and Brandon College (BC), (university students only) after Brandon College became affiliated with the University of Manitoba in 1939.

In order for people to be included on this list, they must:


Post-War Students

We were initially unable to include students who first served in World War II and later attended the University of Manitoba because records of military participation were only kept by the university during the war. Therefore, there are no public records available that tell which students served in the war before entering university.

However, we would be happy to include such students, staff, and alumni in the database. If you, or a relative served in the war and then went on to attend the University of Manitoba, please contact us with the following information:
